Free McDonald’s for life is a dream for most people, but for Bill Gates and Warren Buffett, it’s a reality. Gates is privy to an extremely exclusive McDonald’s Gold Card that entitles him to free meals at any McDonald’s location worldwide. The tech mogul has access to many unique benefits, but it’s a perk that few possess.

Warren Buffett, who is also a billionaire with a fondness for McDonald’s, has a card that is similar, but with a condition. Buffett’s Gold Card is restricted to Omaha, Nebraska, where he is known to reside. He is content with the local limit, as he made a humorous comment in a 2007 CNBC interview, declaring that his card is “good enough” because he doesn’t go far from Omaha.

Fast-food fans and McDonald’s enthusiasts have come to regard these Gold Cards as a sort of legend. McDonald’s decided to offer customers a chance to win their own McGold Cards in 2022, but it wasn’t until then. The fast-food giant launched a contest allowing a few lucky winners to receive Gold Cards that they could share with family and friends. This was the first time McDonald’s offered ordinary people the privileges that Gates and Buffett enjoy at the highest level.

For Gates and Buffett, the Gold Card stands out as a symbol of their close friendship with the McDonald’s brand and, perhaps, each other. These cards are a unique perk for billionaires, whether Gates is traveling to grab a quick bite or Buffett is enjoying breakfast in their hometown. Despite not possessing a personal card, a few McDonald’s fans were fortunate enough to have a taste of that privilege through the contest.
