A lighthearted conversation between hosts Chris Miles and Sam Mitchell unexpectedly heated the NBA Gametime Live set. The discussion about Golden State Warriors stars Draymond Green and Steph Curry began casually but quickly turned into an awkward and tense exchange, leaving viewers in disbelief.

The conversation began innocently with a shot of Curry, Green, and their coach, Steve Kerr. Curry, who won the Paris Olympics with Team USA, proudly displayed his gold medal. Mitchell made a seemingly innocent remark about the lack of medals for coaches at the Olympics after Kerr, who coached the team, didn’t receive one.
“The coaches don’t get medals,” Mitchell said. “I guess it just tells you how international sports value coaches—not at all.”
Miles, attempting to keep the conversation amusing, responded, “I’m surprised coaches get a paycheck for this show. I think maybe you should do this pro bono, my friend.”
Although the comment was intended to be amusing, it seemed to cause Mitchell some discomfort.
“Why don’t you come up off some of that money you got? Since you’re over there bragging about it,” Mitchell shot back, turning the tone of the exchange.
Miles, still laughing, attempted to calm the situation by stating, “I’m not bragging about it.”
Mitchell escalated the situation, attacking Miles’ finances and properties.
“Oh, I’m sorry. Did you rent your beach house out, down in Florida, during the hurricane? Or do I need to go on? How ’bout your townhouse?” Mitchell asked, which caught Miles off guard.
“Hey, what’s going on here, Sam?” Miles replied.
Still trying to maintain a lighthearted tone, but Mitchell wasn’t finished.
“You wanna call me out,” Mitchell continued. “I mean, come on. You screaming broke and hungry. Let’s just see it. I know what you have and where you live, young fella. So you need to stop.”
Miles, attempting to bring the conversation back to basketball, made a joke,
“I think we have snitches on the show today. His name is Sam Mitchell.”
“No, we don’t have snitches. We have truth-tellers,” Mitchell shot back. “You’re the one who’s crying poor and destitute up here—do I need to keep going, or do you want me to stop right now?”
Miles attempted to change the subject entirely at that moment. “How ’bout we go to this game between the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors?”
Mitchell was not finished. ” I told you, young fella, you gotta stop messing with me on national TV. I told you about that. Hey, do I need to give out the address? ‘Cause you’re not at home right now.”
Mitchell didn’t reveal Miles’ address immediately on air, but it was reported that he eventually did, causing them to go back and forth into uncomfortable territory. A routine discussion about the Olympic gold medals soon turned into a tense, personal exchange that disbelieved viewers.
