Hall Of Famer & Atlanta Hawks Owner Grant Hill Reveals When He Knew It Was Time To Retire From NBA
Jamal Crawford is the latest to call it a t a career after 20 seasons in the NBA.
“ Goodbye to the game, all the spoils, the adrenaline rush,” said Crawford earlier this year via Twitter.
“Thank you, basketball, [and] I owe you everything.”

Hall of Famer and Atlanta Hawks owner Grant Hill shared when he knew it was time to retire. During the Heat and Sixers broadcast earlier tonight, he revealed it was James Harden’s first season in Houston [2012-13].
“I remember trying to guard him my last year with the Los Angeles Clippers, his first year in Houston, and oh my. I knew it was time to retire at 40,” said Hill. “He had me clapping like I was in church.”
Hill would officially announce his retirement following the 2012-13 season. He played 19 seasons, and would join NBA on TNT
Hill, was a seven-time star, finished in career averages of 16.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.1 assists. Hill was the 1995 Rookie of the Year, and a five-time All-NBA selection (one first-team).
Five years later, he would be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame alongside Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, Ray Allen, Katie Smith, and Tina Thompson as a part of the 2018 Class.
