The Los Angeles Lakers play host to the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night. Coming into the game, the Mavericks look to go 2-1 with a win over the Los Angeles Lakers following the All-Star break. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers are looking to rebound after their 28 point loss against the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday night. Thus far, coming off the All-Star break, which is just two seasons removed from raising the Larry O’Brien championship trophy, is clinging to their playoff hopes.
During the All-Star weekend break, Lakers’ forward LeBron James praised Luka Doncic to get his teammates involved stated that Doncic reminds him of himself.
“The way he plays the game reminds me of the way I play the game,” James said. “We’re triple threats. We rebound, we pass, which is the number one thing on our mind. … And we’ll put 40 on you too if you disrespect us.”
“Quote me right where I say this – it’s LeBron James-like from the standpoint of how he’s able to rope that pass to shooters in corners, getting blitzed. There’s not many guys who can do that and put it right there. He does an amazing job of it.”
Doncic shared that every game against the King is special on Tuesday afternoon before the Mavs take on the Lakers.
“Every game is going to be special, against him [LeBron James]. He is one of the best basketball players ever to play this game,” said Doncic.
“I really watched him growing up and every game is going to be special against him.”
The Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks play at Crypto.com Arena at 10 pm EST on TNT tonight.
