Lakers Legend Kobe Bryant Finessed Diana Taurasi During Gambling Game, Says Candace Parker
There haven’t been many competitors like Basketball Hall of Famer Kobe Bryant. The Black mamba was not only ruthless on the court but also off it. Future Hall of Famer Diana Taurasi was not immune to this either.
In a recent interview with Taylor Rooks of Bleacher Report, Chicago Sky star Candace Parker revealed an epic game story with Kobe, Taurasi, and Jason Kidd.
Per Parker, Kobe was playing mind games with Taurasi, and she ended up losing all of her money in a card game named Booray. It turns out Taurasi was playing with now Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd’s money.
According to Parker, Kobe knew how to get Taurasi to raise the pot.
“Jason Kidd let Diana [Taurasi] play for him one time, and Kobe was just egging Diana on. She lost all of J-Kidd, like all of his money,” said Parker.
“This had to be Beijing. [Kobe took] all of his money. And I just remember watching Kobe just stir the pot the whole time.”
After revealing that she was a first-hand witness of this event, Rooks asked Parker how much she lost, but Parker would not say the exact amount.
“I’m breaking the code if I say how much, I’m breaking the code. It was over. I’ll just say over.”
Earlier this year, Parker helped lead the Chicago Sky to the franchise’s first-ever WNBA Championship and the first professional basketball championship since Michael Jordan. The Chicago Bulls did it in 1998.
