Kanye West’s School Gets Surprising New Recruit

Robert Dillingham is one of the top high school basketball player’s in the state of North Carolina. He is also project as a 2023 five-star recruit.
He has recently elected to leave the state of North Carolina and attend school in California, but not just any school Kanye West’s Donda Academy in Los Angeles. His discussion has caused a little bit of a ruckus, according to Bally Sports Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson.
Robinson recently spoke to Dillingham’s father Donald Dillingham and apparently, all West and his partner Rico Grier wants to do is make money off of his son.
“I don’t care what Kanye says or Rico Grier says. All he wants to do is make a dollar off of Robert. His mom gave him permission to go. If he was with LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony or something like that, then it would be different,” said Donald Dillingham.
“Kanye West is a rapper & he don’t know jack about basketball. That school ain’t even established. That doesn’t make any sense. No, I don’t agree with that. He’s not going to be playing there.”
Last month, West opened the private school near Simi Valley, servicing students from kindergarten to grade 12. The academy is named after the rappers late mother.
Dr. Donda West was an educator who taught for 31 years, initially as an assistant and later as a teacher. In one of his last instructional roles, before leaving the field to act as “momager” to her only child, Dr. West ran Chicago State University’s English department.
Per The Simi Valley Acorn, West purchased four acres of land in an unincorporated area between Moorpark and Simi Valley in Ventura County, approximately 45 miles northwest of Los Angeles.
The property features a 5,728 square foot school with classrooms, laboratories, offices, a kitchen, as well as a basketball court and an open court, depending on the rental list. This was the former Simi Valley Stoneridge Prep School that closed in the early 2010’s.
In an article published by MTV News last month, the institution’s Education Consultant, Beulah McLoyd revealed that the school “prepares students to become the next generation of leaders, thinkers and innovators by providing them with a world-class education.”
Like Kanye West, McLoyd is also a native of Chicago and has two decades of educational experience.
