Last week Philadelphia 76ers forward Mike Scott got into an altercation with Eagles fans at Lincoln Financial Field. It has been well-documented that Scott is an avid Redskins fan. So, you wouldn’t expect him to cheer for the Eagles even though he is a member of the Sixers. Before Scott arrived at the stadium, posted an image of himself in a Sean Taylor jersey in Center City on Twitter. Letting fans know that he was on his way to “4th and Jawn” to interact with Eagles fans before the game.

Scot was prepared for anything that might ensue as he was accompanied by a member of the Sixers’ security team. He would later spot a coffin draped with Redskins memorabilia on it. According to the Philly Voice, Scott found it funny and wanted to take a picture in front of it. When he attempted to approach the area, It caused the Eagles fans in the area to start chanting “F*ck the Redskins!” and “F*ck you!” Also, according to the Voice, fans started yelling the n-word, towards Scott. A small group of witness shared with the platform that it wasn’t until the pushing and shoving broke out that they heard the racial slurs in the video below.

After the altercation was broken up, Scott went about his day and went to his sweet and watched the game. The Sixers reviewed their team policies regarding security at public events and determined Scott wasn’t at fault and will not be disciplined.
Former Orlando Magic guard, Darell Armstrong, who is also a Redskins fan, shared his thoughts on Mike Scott’s incident.
“Philadelphia Fans are very disrespectful. They booed Santa Clause, and he is going to bring you wins. They cheered for Michael Irving when he got hurt, and now fighting with Mike Scott. Philadelphia is special to me, I signed my first contract in Philly as a member of the Orlando Magic at the old Veterans Stadium, and it had a jail in the basement,” said Armstrong.
The old Vet had a courtroom and a jailhouse featured in the basement — the reason why there was a courtroom and jail because Philly fans get rowdy. Former Eagles Court judge Justice Seamus P. McCaffery said in an interview back in 2011; both served its purpose.
Eagles Court was a lot of fun and it served a purpose. One of the interesting facts that came out of Eagles Court was that 95 percent of the people arrested were not from Philadelphia. But Philadelphia was getting broad-brushed as the city with horrible, horrible fans.
