Last Week Carmelo Anthony’s wife was interviewed by TMZ, and during her brief chat with the media platform, Lala was asked if she could see Melo back in the league next season. Mrs. Anthony replied, “Why wouldn’t we?” and added the word “Facts!.”
She was asked a follow-up question: So, where she thinks Melo will land???
Lala replied, “Whatever team is gonna appreciate him!”
So, who hopes that Melo will be playing somewhere in the NBA next season is former Knicks general manager Isiah Thomas. Last week I spoke with the former Piston and asked him did he see Melo playing in the NBA next season.
“I hope so because Carmelo Anthony is one of my favorite people. He has been nothing but class, and professional every time I have had any interaction with him. If he still wants to play, I hope he has the opportunity to play for some team. Also, I hope he can and will contribute,” said Thomas.
Melo has support from many NBA players in the league and Dallas Mavericks Owner Mark Cuban it just has to be the fit for both sides.
There has to be a team that has a need for his specific talent, and he is A Hall of Famer, but like everyone else it’s it gotta be a fit,“ said Cuban.
“I think Carmelo’s game still adapts to today’s game, it just has to be the right situation,” Kings Assistant Coach Bobby Jackson told me. With Carmelo situation being that he is 15 or 16 seasons in will he be willing to take a back seat by coming off the bench and being a limited role player in that offense. I think that is the biggest question with Carmelo,” said Jackson.
“Melo is a Hall of Famer, and I think it is funny how fickle today’s world with social media and everything has become what have you done for me lately. I don’t if they remember how good of a player he was and still is. Sometimes it’s the situation; it sucks to see as a basketball player to see people act he is something he is not, said Griffin.
“I have a feeling Melo will turn it around.”
