The New Orleans Saints have been one of the NFL’s best team since signing Drew Brees back in 2006. Three-years later, he would lead the Saints to their first and only Super Bowl to date in 2009.

Since then the organization has been very profitable as the franchise is worth a little bit over $2 billion, and good enough to rank 26th out 32 teams in the league. Over the last couple of years former minority athletes and other entrepreneurs have voiced their desire to own major stakes in professional teams and follow in Michael Jordan’s footsteps, who own a majority stake the Charlotte Hornets.

News Orleans legend Silkk The Shocker is one of the last individuals that is interested in purchasing an ownership stake in a sports franchise. He was recently on Heavy on Lakers and shared that he would like to own a piece of the Saints after being asked my Brandon’ Scoop B’ Robinson.

“I really do. I really want to. I think at some point I am,” said Shocker.

Shocker’s brother Master P is also interested in owning the Pelicans. P was a guest on #WORDSWITHSCOOP,  shared the news.

“If I’m not going to own it, I know I can’t control it,” said Master P.

“I made a song called ‘Yo犀利士 u Need to Know’ and we need to get that information out. I say that “This is the realest I ever wrote/ this is the realest shit I ever spoke…” this is the stuff that they don’t want you to know. But if you get money, this is the stuff you need to know. We need to know economics and banking. We need to know that they give us 1% of these teams minority ownership. That’s not enough because we have no control. So if we’re not going to own that and be the majority owner of it, I’m good.”

Earlier this year, former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, Donovan McNabb shared with me, that he would be interested in purchasing a stake in the Eagles if a deal was offered.

“It would be something to think about and if the opportunity arises, I would definitely consider it. I don’t shy away from any great business venture where you are rewarded with great capital while helping and uplifting the organization. I greatly appreciate what 犀利士 the Eagles organization has done for my career and my family,” said McNabb.

“I still support the team and I’m happy when they have success. Jeffrey Lurie is a close friend of our family and Andy Reid when he was coaching for the Eagles; the list goes on with the organization. So, I don’t think an ownership stake is one I could say no to. I would definitely look into it and see how I could help make a positive change.”

Back in 2018, 3-time NBA Champion, Steph Curry and rapper/entrepreneur Sean “Diddy” Combs had interest in purchasing stakes in the Carolina Panthers as a part of a group headed by Michael Rubin, an e-commerce billionaire before the asking price hit 2.5 billion and later sold to David Tepper, who is a billionaire hedge fund manager, and philanthropist, according to the Washington Post.
