Everything coming to season 3 in Call of Duty Black Ops 6

New season means new content, and this particular content drop is pretty significant. New Balance changes, guns, maps, perks, everything you could want is in this, so let’s talk about what’s coming in this fascinating new chapter in the game.

Of course, maybe you put the game aside for a while while waiting for new content, or you’re choosing this as the time to get into it, which is an excellent idea finally. For either option, I recommend a Black Ops 6 boost to get some of the hardest cosmetics in the game or reach the higher ranks by playing with the pros.

Without any further ado, let’s talk about everything coming with this new update, from big to small, starting with-

New Maps

This new season greets us with the addition of five new maps. Three are out at launch, but the rest are coming in a mid-season update. The maps are:

• Firing Range (Launch map): A return from the original Call of Duty: Black Ops, the Firing Range is a medium-sized map for 6v6 modes. These faithful remasters of the classic map will see you and your friend reigning chaos in the middle of the map while also providing sneaky paths off to the side, so watch out for flanking enemies. Another returning feature of the map is the titular firing range, where you can shoot targets moving on rails between battles as a small diversion.

• Barrage (Launch map): Another medium size map set in Vietnam in the year 1968 with high towers meant for sniping and destroyed buildings that provide a somewhat safe passage from the flying bullets. This map is for 6v6 modes.

• Nomad (Launch map): A small map for 2v2 and 6v6 modes set in some ruins in Afghanistan, where you fight among destroyed buildings and a large tower, which you can access and climb through a zip line. This map is sure to become a place of adrenaline-inducing battles, and at least my personal favorite of this update.

• Haven (Mid-season map): This mid-size map takes place in a KGB safehouse. It looks like it’s going to have a good mix of indoor and outdoor combat. This decaying building will have many short corridors rather than long hallways, so you’d better come equipped accordingly.

• Signal (Mid-season map): This small map is meant for 2v2 and 6v6 modes, and it takes place in a section of an ocean rig where you have small corridors and rooms with plenty of corners to watch out for. You can also dive into the water to flank your enemies with a surprise attack!

Besides these new maps, a variant of the Nuketown map will arrive for a limited time, called Blazetown. Not much is known yet!

New modes

This new season brings many gifts, including these new multiplayer modes!

Sharpshooter (Launch mode)

In this intense free-for-all mode, everyone has the same random loadout equipped, and it changes every 45 seconds, but that’s not it! Every time you kill someone, you earn a bonus stat, with the bonus becoming better as your kill streak increases.

• 1st Elimination: Increased movement speed.
• 2nd Elimination: Increased reload speed.
• 3rd Elimination: Increased sprint recovery speed.
• 4th Elimination: Increased ADS speed.
• 5th Elimination: Earn double score for eliminating enemies.

The trick is that if you die, you lose all your bonuses, and you have to earn them again. Reaching the 5th elimination is key to achieving the top of the leaderboard, so make sure you stay on your feet! The loadout will change from everything to dual pistols, snipers, and even melee weapons, so adapting is key to success in this mode.

Demolition (Launch mode)

Alternate between attacking and defending two bomb sites. The attacking team must destroy both bomb sites to win the round, gaining a time bonus after detonating the first site. All attacking Operators spawn with a bomb, and respawns are active for both teams throughout the match.

Defending teams have to prevent the bombs from going off until the timer runs out and defuse the bombs if they are planted, as this stops the timer entirely until they either explode or are defused. Both bombs have to explode for the match to end in favor of the attackers, so if one site explodes, you have to guard the remaining site with everything you have! The first team to achieve 2 victories wins the match. With a tie-breaker round if both teams get a victory.

Joint operations (Mid-season mode)

This is a limited-time variation of five classic modes, including Head Stash (TDM), Inhalation (Domination), Hotbox (Hardpoint), Very High Target (HVT), and Munchies (Kill Confirmed).

Cycle through all five modes under a variety of changing effects, including double health, low gravity, visual hallucinations, and third-person POV.

New perks

New perks mean new meta, so it’s important to pay attention whenever these get added, so let’s just dive into what these new ones do.

Close Shave

Perk slot: 1

Type: Enforcer

Automatically use your Dedicated Melee attack when you perform a weapon butt attack. Simply tap the Melee button to attack.

Vendetta

Perk slot: 2

Type: Recon

On respawn, mark your killer’s last known position for a short duration. Get a bonus score for eliminating that enemy.

There’s also a new scorestreak

Death Machine

Score: 825

Wield the infamous Death Machine, a powerful weapon with a single large magazine that fires high impact rounds at a blistering rate of fire. Score earned while using the Death Machine contributes to your current Scorestreak progress, making this a great tool for bumping up to the next streak.

In conclusion

There’s even more in this update. Such as new weapons and attachments and because I wanted to focus on the multiplayer mode aspect of the new content, I didn’t even go into the zombies’ mode, which also had a fair share of changes. There’s so much to dig into with this new season that it really does become a great starting point for everyone that was thinking about getting into the game.
