Normani Reveals Why Cardi B Was A Perfect Fit For ‘Wild Side’

Last month, Pearland, Texas artist Normani released her video to her hit single ‘Wild Side’ featuring Cardi B. Before the video was officially released to YouTube, Cardi B was on Instagram Live and revealed a piece of the version of the song that would not be featured in her verse in the video. Unfortunately, she could not turn it in on time for the release of the music video.
Normani recently sat down with Shay Diddy and discussed why she felt Cardi was the right person for the feature in the first place. According to Normani, she wanted to do something with the WAP artist. In fact, she was in rehearsal for almost a month and was going to go in a different direction, but Cardi expressed loving the record, and Normani thought she was the perfect person to join her on the single.
“She [Cardi] has always been supportive this record aside with my career in general,” said Normani.
She would then go on to tell us how the two first ended up meeting each other.
“The first time I met her, I think it was backstage at an I Heart show, and she was on stage at an I Heart show, and she said something about, I don’t have feet like Normani. So I remember seeing that on Twitter because I have seen my name blowing up, which is the first time we met.”
According to Billboard, Normani performed ‘Wild Side’ for the first time at Tequila Don Julio’s CASA Primavera Event.
