Wyclef Jean has worked with some of the worlds most renowned musicians. Music Icons such as Whitney Houston, Prince, Michael Jackson, Mary J Blige, and the list goes on. So, when he tells Moira Mack, she is one of the best artists he heard from this generation, it’s a significant compliment.
“Moira Mack; I’ve jammed with everyone from Prince, Michael, Whitney Houston, and Mary J… You are one of the most lethal musicians I have ever met in this generation,” said Jean.
Mack is an artist that Jean discovered last year, during a visit to the University of Southern California. According to Mack, she received a phone call from her professor. Her professor informed her that he had a special guest coming in for a visit later that week. She would decide to bring her guitar just in case she had to perform. The guest turned out to be Wyclef Jean, and her professor called her to the stage to perform. Of course, she was nervous at first because she was playing in front of someone that she grew up listing too. Unbeknownst to Mack, Jean was streaming her performance on Instagram Live. After the performance, she went home and shared her experience on social media.
“What do you do after the best day of your life”?

Jean and Mack would later collaborate on a single called ‘Sak Kap Fet,’ and another artist named Kofi Black. The song is featured on Wyclef’s eighth studio album entitled ‘Carnival III: The Fall and Rise of a Refugee.’
According to Mack when I spoke to her last year, “It is something that Kofi and Clef put together and they sent it to me after it was developed.”
She would send back a couple of versions of verse for them to choose from she told me.
“I know Sak Kap Fet means what’s good and you try to keep that in mind when you are singing the song and take the vibe. Clef is all about catching a vibe I just took it into the studio with one of my friends’ in Los Angeles and ran with it.”
Mack and Clef would later collaborate on a mixtape called ‘Wyclef Goes Back to School’, which was a project that he made with the college kids that he discovered like Mack.
