World of Warcraft: Midnight officially launches on March 2, 2026 at 3pm PST (6 pm EST). Epic Edition players can access the game early beginning February 26, 2026. This eleventh expansion centers on the Void storyline in the Worldsoul Saga. The expansion will also introduce player housing and new zones. Editions available to players include Base, Heroic, and Epic editions, with the Epic edition providing early access, pets, mounts, and 30 days of game time.
Many players are celebrating the launch of Midnight thanks to Blizzard:
“To celebrate World of Warcraft: Midnight, game teams across Blizzard have joined forces to create a suite of unique rewards that unlock when players move into their first home and earn the new “Welcome Home” achievement in World of Warcraft, as well as a second wave of rewards after completing the “Echoes of Midnight” achievement, which is earned by finishing Midnight’s introduction questline.
Earn Two Achievements, Unlock Rewards in Multiple Blizzard Games
This is a celebration across our games of the Midnight expansion launch and Player Housing, and these rewards are a thank you to our incredible community—a community that spans genres and worlds. We invite our entire Blizzard community to put down roots in Azeroth and celebrate alongside us. Welcome home!”
Other Blizzard games, such as Overwatch, will unlock special skins once you accomplish the “Welcome Home” achievement in WoW:

- Xal’atath Symmetra Legendary Skin
- Xal’atath Symmetra Spray
- Xal’atath Symmetra Name Card
- Dark Heart Player Icon
Earning the “Echoes of Midnight” achievement will unlock the Devourer Genji Legendary Skin.

While this expansion seems exciting for Wow players, according to Screen Rant (https://screenrant.com/wow-midnight-prey-raids-zulaman-interview/), the developers of Wow stated that, “It has been a challenge.”
There’s a lot happening with WoW: Midnight‘s release, with player housing being added to the game, changes to how add-ons are handled, the new Prey mode spicing things up, and more. With so much to talk about, it’s always interesting to hear what the people who worked on it all are most excited about.
Of course, as Paul Kubit said, “some of it’s behind spoiler territory for sure! Some of the things that I’m most excited about are still things that have yet to be uncovered on beta or yet to be shared anywhere, really.” Yet, even dodging some of these spoilers, there are many things coming that are exciting (source: Screen Rant-Carrie Lambertson).
While I am not an avid WoW player, my husband has gotten me invested in the housing and pets. I will most likely not play this expansion right away, but here are some things that sound enticing:
Midnight Housing Decor
Adorn your new home in Azeroth with Midnight-themed decor, including the Light-Infused Rotunda, Void-Corrupted Rotunda, Light-Infused Fountain, Void-Corrupted Fountain, and four iconic character Paintings.
Voidlight Surger
Embrace both the Light and the Void when you take to the skies on the Voidlight Surger flying mount, which cycles its appearance with unique visual effects!
Enhanced Level 80 Character Boost
Prepare for Midnight with this Enhanced Character Boost that will have you ready to begin leveling in Quel’Thalas.
Transmogs, Mounts, Pets, and More!
Get the Lightstrider and Voidstrider transmog sets, the Lightwing and Voidwing Dragonhawk flying mounts, the Doomfeathers and Hopeflutter Dragonhawk pets, additional Trader’s Tender, and 30 Days of Game Time.

My husband is an avaricious WoW player. Here are some of his thoughts on the new expansion:
“I cant give much because it is not out yet, but its the first xpac in a long time. That feeling like warcraft with green Jesus (Chris metzen one of the og devs) being back at Blizzard there is hope that this will be the best xpac in the last 8 years. The class fantasy is great and housing as made the old world come to life. Zones next to no one has gone to in years are calling you back to get housing decor, xp and endeavors that bring you and your neighborhood together to complete a common goal and there are so many more new features coming.”
