Joyner Lucas On Working With ‘The Fresh Prince’ Will Smith

Last March Joyner Lucas paid homage to Will Smith with his track “Will” and Smith responded by jumping on the remix.

After Joyner Lucas shared the video for the ADHD single, Will personally posted a clip on his Instagram to say how much he appreciated the tribute. He was clearly impressed with the track, and now fans are eating up his latest return to the world of rap.

“You feelin’ like me? I feel like a prince that turned to a king, found me a queen, started a family and got me a team. [I’m] on top of my dreams,” Smith raps in the remix. “Joyner I know you’re inspired by me like I was inspired by Nelson Mandela,” he says, and gives a shout out to others who’ve inspired him: the basketball great Julius Erving and legendary boxer Muhammad Ali, who died in 2016 at age 74 (and whom Smith played in 2001’s “Ali”).

Before adding his verse on Will remix last March, it had been 15 years since the Fresh Price dropped his last album ‘Lost and Found,’ clearly he hasn’t missed a beat.

This past weekend, Joyner Lucas was on Clubhouse in the Crenshaw District Room answering questions regarding past dealings in the music industry. When a fan asked him what it was like working with Will Smith.

“Working with Will [Smith] was cool,” said Lucas.

Earlier this month, Lucas put on Joyner Fest to shine the limelight on artists from his hometown of Worcester, MA according to Telegram.com.
