The Portland Trailblazers are coming off a game one loss in the Western Conference Semi-Finals against the Denver Nuggets 121-113.  Damian had a decent game with 39 points, three rebounds, and six assists, while his backcourt mate  C.J. McCollum added 16 points, four rebounds, and three assists. As for the Denver Nuggets, their MVP candidate Nikola Jokić scored 37, nine rebounds, and six assists. Jamal Murray also chipped in 23 points and eight assists as the  Nuggets were able to hold off the red hot Blazers.

The Blazers were coming off a five-game series against the Oklahoma City Thunder and ironically, Damian Lillard would hit a 37 footer over the stretch arm of Paul George to seal the game for the Blazers. Ultimately seeking his 50th point of the game and eliminating the Thunder at the same time.

Former Trailblazer guard Bonzi Wells has been keeping a close eye on his former team’s playoff run. In a conversation with the 12-year veteran by phone earlier this evening and asked him his thoughts on the playoff run both Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum are having to this point.

“Them two boys are killers. I love C.J.’s game because he complements Dame’s game. It is like Yin and Yang and they complement each other’s game very well. CJ is very smooth and a great shooter and has a deceptive handled, that people don’t really understand. He gets to his spot well and that is just his game. It’s awesome and when you think about a guy like Dame. What he is doing in the playoffs is unheard of especially in a Blazers’犀利士
uniform,“ said Former Blazer Bonzi Wells.

Wells would continue:

He is doing things that we thought we had some good players and guys who came through there, but Dame is taking it to another level. When I see that crowd, it gives me chills because I remember the days that we use to rock it and that is what it is all about. I know the buzz in Portland is crazy and that is thanks to Dame, C.J. McCollum, and the rest of the crew,“ Well said.

The Portland Trailblazers traded for Bonzi Wells draft rights from the Detroit Pistons, who took him eleventh overall out of Ball State. The Blazers would send the Pistons their first-round pick the following year.
