Star2, EH LA, and TaeTae release their latest single, “Kokaine,” as a lethal force combining pain, violence, and power. “Kokaine” is a song about the intoxicating chaos of love that’s a dangerous high you can’t part with, even when it’s ripping you apart. Star2, along with EH LA and TaeTae, embodies the push and pull of desire and destruction, painting visceral images from a relationship in which heartbreak and addiction are intertwined.
Star2 was born in the Mae La refugee camp to parents who fled fighting between Karen rebels and government soldiers. He aims to raise the voices of his community, and that mission beats like a heart through every lyric and beat. Featuring fellow refugee artists EH LA and TaeTae, “Kokaine” is a testament to the courage of continuing to create and assert identity.
