Skip Bayless Has Strong Words For Hornets Owner Michael Jordan

When Michael Jordan became the majority owner of the Bobcats/ Hornets twelve years ago, the expectation was for him to build a winning franchise. After his legendary playing career which saw him win six NBA Championships and countless other awards.
The franchise has not come closest to what Jordan was able to do playing with the Chicago Bulls. And with that being said, Skip Bayless is now calling his Airiness the worse owner in NBA History.
“Michael Jordan has clearly proven to be the worst owner and operator of an NBA franchise ever,” Bayless said on his “The Skip Bayless Show.” “The worst GM, the worst team builder ever. I guess we will have to call this Jordan the W.O.A.T. — worst of all time.”
The current Hornets have an overall record of 396-545 (0.421) beneath Jordan, and only the Knicks, Pistons, Timberwolves, Magic, and Kings have been worse since 2010.
The Hornets just hired Kenny Atkinson, which ESPN’s Woj reported last week. Atkinson is the sixth coach under Jordan since taking over the team.
Jordan has also has been criticized for his draft picks and who could drafted and Bayless touched on that during the most recent episode of his podcast.
“Michael Jordan is the man who took Adam Morrison over Brandon Roy. He took Kemba (Walker) over Klay (Thompson) and Kawhi (Leonard). Michael took Michael Kidd-Gilchrist over Bradley Beal, Cody Zeller over Giannis (Anteokounmpo), Noah Vonleh over Zach LaVine, Frank Kaminsky over Devin Booker. He even took Malik Monk over Donovan Mitchell.
“Wrong, wrong, wronger.”
Hopefully, the hiring of Atkinson, who coached the Brooklyn Nets to the Playoffs during 2018-19, can turn the franchise around. Atkinson is currently an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors.
The Warriors are looking to win their 4th NBA Championship in six years. Their series with the Boston Celtics is currently tied 2-2, heading back to San Francisco. Game 5 is on Monday night on ABC.
