Shaq Buys Mercedes S-Class on the Spot After Discovering His Custom Sprinter

Shaquille O’Neal’s love for luxury took an unexpected turn recently when he discovered a lavish Mercedes-Benz Sprinter he’d ordered but forgotten about. When the sliding door of the custom Sprinter opened, Shaq was greeted with an opulent interior, fully outfitted with brown leather, beige piping, ambient lighting, and an onboard LCD screen ready to stream Netflix and YouTube. The cabin also featured a built-in refrigerator to keep champagne cold and reclining seats to ensure utmost comfort.

Shaq’s attention was quickly drawn to the sleek Mercedes-Benz S-Class that the tuner’s team had driven to deliver the Sprinter. Shaq was so enchanted by the car’s luxury that he immediately announced his intention to buy it on the spot.

“That’s right, I bought a Sprinter!” he laughed, recalling the moment. But his newfound fascination with the S-Class led him to tell the Effortless Motors owner, “I’m gonna buy it right now!”

The Instagram post from Effortless Motors claims that the car in question was an S 550. Notably, the W223 S-Class lineup doesn’t include an S 550 in the U.S. Instead, it offers models such as the S 500 4MATIC, powered by a 3.0-liter inline-six engine producing 442 horsepower, and the S 580e 4MATIC plug-in hybrid, with a combined 503 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque.

Other S-Class models available include the non-hybrid S 580 4MATIC, equipped with a 4.0-liter biturbo V8, delivering 496 horsepower, and the Mercedes-AMG S 63 E Performance Sedan, the pinnacle of the lineup with a handcrafted V8 engine producing an impressive 791 horsepower.

While the U.S. The S 550 is no longer available. The previous generation W222 had it and it was powered by a 4.7-liter V8 engine with 449 horsepower. It’s probable that Shaq’s impulsive addition to his collection was a newer model, demonstrating the enduring appeal of Mercedes’ S-Class luxury.
