A woman has filed a police report claiming that rapper Sage the Gemini, born Dominic Wynn Woods, sexually assaulted her in September 2017. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to TMZ that the report was filed on Monday. According to the woman, the incident occurred at the residence of singer Chris Brown after being invited there by Sage.
The report states that the woman met Sage through social media, and he invited her to visit Brown’s house. When she arrived, she briefly met Brown and was told she had to sign an NDA before entering the residence. Despite Brown’s minimal involvement in the situation, as the woman claims he was not present at the time of the alleged assault, the accusations against Sage are gaining public attention.
Despite the police report not identifying the woman by name, It’s striking that her account resembles that of Hana Katana, who uploaded a video last month accusing Sage of raping her at Brown’s house.
Katana’s video, which has since gone viral with over 4.5 million views, describes a terrifying experience in which she was allegedly forced to sign a document claiming that the encounter with Sage was consensual.
Katana’s video showed her anger and frustration, accusing Sage of using the NDA to conceal misconduct.
“I don’t care if I sign an NDA, I don’t care if I signed this paper that said that it was consensual when it wasn’t, and you fing know that,” Katana said. “The fact that you had that paper brought out right after is so fing sickening and it tells me that you’ve done this before.”
In her TikTok video, Katana claimed that Brown had raped one of her friends when she was underage and drunk, which increased public outrage around the case.
Sage responded indirectly to the allegations shortly after Katana’s video gained traction, posting an Instagram Story that read: ‘Sage appeared to respond indirectly to the allegations shortly after Katana’s video gained traction.’
“i ain’t turning s*** off lol only people she not Lyin to is the police cuz they don’t give out careers! #FindANewHustle.”
His response has sparked further backlash, with many criticizing his dismissive tone toward the severe accusations.
At this time, Chris Brown or his representatives have not issued an official statement regarding the events or the accusations involving his home. Meanwhile, Sage the Gemini has not responded formally beyond his Instagram Story, and the investigation remains ongoing.
As the allegations continue circulating on social media, legal proceedings may offer more clarity on the case. This development comes amid increasing awareness of sexual assault in the entertainment industry, where NDAs and other legal mechanisms are often scrutinized for their role in silencing victims.
The Growing Impact of Social Media on Sexual Assault Cases
Katana’s decision to use TikTok to share her story shows how social media platforms are increasingly influencing the voices of alleged victims. In recent years, TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter have been effective tools in spreading awareness and starting public conversations about sexual misconduct. As her story continues to gain attention, it highlights the vital importance of social media in the modern justice system, as it enables individuals to share their experiences directly with millions of people.
The investigation into Sage the Gemini’s alleged actions is ongoing, but the conversation about NDAs and sexual assault in the entertainment industry is likely to continue. Currently, the focus is on the legal process and whether additional actions will be taken in response to the police report.
What’s Next?
It is still unclear if Sage the Gemini will face charges related to the accusations as the legal case unfolds. The entertainment industry’s increasing calls for accountability and the public’s attention to the case could have a lasting impact on Sage’s career and reputation.
