Lou’s return to a darker version of himself, one the streets knew all too well, is becoming clear in Raising Kanan Season 4, Episode 7. We’re on the edge of our seats with Movie Bot’s latest breakdown, which gives us insights into the brewing storm. Lou has tried to distance himself from the violent life he once led, but the recent events are forcing him to act, and he may be preparing for his next kill.

“He doing everything he can to hurt us…”

Lou’s demeanor in the opening scene indicates that he’s had enough. His pain is fresh, and his loyalty is steadfast. Despite the turmoil with his sister Raq, Lou is still committed to the Thomas family. He’s using the same flag he’s used to and ready to get his hands dirty again. Movie Bot outlines three significant storylines that are coming together, and any of them could result in Lou returning to the killing game. But together? It’s a perfect storm.

1. Avenge Famous’s Death

Lou and Famous had a strong connection. He mentored him, looked out for him, and even pushed him to refocus on music and stay away from the streets. Lou was devastated when Famous’s body turned up tortured and dead as a result of being caught up in a detective’s murder case. Movie Bot reminds us that Lou is not one to kill out of impulse.

He’s ruled out as a suspect in Famous’s murder due to motive and timeline. He only desires vengeance. For Famous. For Jessica. For Kanan, who has lost his best friend. In Episode 406, Raq asks Lou about his return to violence, and Lou replies that he would make an exception for Famous. That’s huge. We’ve seen Lou fight to avoid slipping back into the streets—but this? This is personal. This is family. We may see him make that exception a reality in one or two episodes.

Since the beginning, Berilla has been a red flag. Volatile, impulsive, and hard-headed—Movie Bot aptly calls him a ‘disaster waiting to happen’. Lou tried to steer him like he did Famous, but Berilla isn’t built for mentorship. He is desperate, driven by survival, and willing to cross lines Lou is uncomfortable with. In 406, Berilla was seen planning to steal from Mr. Gelfond — a move we all saw coming when the camera stayed just long enough on him during that cash conversation back in 403. You will be dragged back into a mess he didn’t ask for if things go sideways, which is a surefire result of the plan being in motion.

Movie Bot clarifies that it might be the last straw when Lou finds out about Berilla’s betrayal, especially after having already been disrespected in the studio. What did Lou do when Berilla touched him? That wasn’t fear. That was restraint. But that patience is thinning. Lou’s next target could be someone close to him, like Berilla, who pushed too hard.

3. The Unique Situation

Even though Unique hasn’t made any direct moves recently, his presence remains. Lou and Raq’s relationship has been rocky, but family remains their driving force. And if Unique becomes a more immediate threat again, Lou won’t hesitate to take action. According to Movie Bot, Lou would be the first to help Raq if she were to find herself in a difficult situation again. He’s already shown a willingness to sacrifice for the family, and if push comes to shove, Unique might be next on Lou’s hit list, especially if he had any hand in what happened to Famous.

What’s Next for Lou?

Lou’s internal tug-of-war is what makes him an engaging character. He desires peace, music, and a clear break. But violence and vengeance seem to be the only language the streets speak. According to Movie Bot, Lou is not currently hunting, but what will happen when the truth about Famous’s killer comes to light? That’s what causes the reaction. Lou’s next kill is coming, even if it takes a few more episodes until the Season 4 finale. When it happens, it won’t be solely about retribution. It’ll be about reclaiming control. Restoring the balance and correcting an error that is personal to me.

Final Thoughts

The focus of Movie Bot’s breakdown is a man caught between who he was and who he wants to be. Lou’s journey this season has been anything but linear—but that’s what makes his arc so rich. The writing’s on the wall, whether it’s revenge for Famous, the Berilla betrayal, or the imminent threat of Unique. Lou is in the process of making a move. Raising Kanan will shaken up, and Kanan will be redefined when he does that. Stay tuned. The war for Southside is far from over.
