As Monet Tejada faces the consequences of her relentless ambition, Noma exacts her brutal revenge in Episode 9 of Power Book II: Ghost Season 4. The episode, which is filled with action, betrayal, and emotional turmoil, is a stunning prelude to the upcoming series finale.
The episode opens with a twist as Monet Tejada, along with her allies Tariq St. Patrick, Brayden, Diana, Dru, Effie, and Davis come up with a plan to murder Noma and Carter on the day of her wedding to Cane. The strategy seems to be straightforward: Brayden, Effie, and Tariq are assigned to take out Carter, while the Tejadas and Davis confront Noma at her wedding reception. As is the case with Power, things go wrong quickly.
Tariq’s plan to ambush Carter goes wrong when the dirty cop easily overpowers him, leaving him imprisoned in the back of his car. Carter immediately contacts Noma to inform her that Monet is alive and disrupts their plan. Carter is knocked unconscious by a drugged-up Brayden before he can get far. Carter wakes up to find himself bound to a chair by Brayden when he wakes up.
Meanwhile, back at the wedding reception, Noma is now Mrs. Cane Tejada is swift in asserting her dominance. During their initial dance, she gives Cane a choice: choose between her and her organization or his family. In the event that Cane refuses to disavow his loyalty to his mother, Noma orders her men to keep him under control. At the same time, Dru and Diana are led away from the party with orders for their execution. Monet, who is always the protector, comes in with guns blazing and kills the henchmen, liberating her children.
As the Tejada family comes together and rushes back to the reception to save Cane, the intensity rises. Noma, who is about to kill her new husband, is stopped by Monet who enters the room like a one-woman army. The scene becomes chaotic as gunfire erupts. Dru and Diana join the fight to support their mother, while Cane, who is still tied up, watches with horror as his family struggles to survive.
The Tejada family’s victory is accompanied by a devastating cost. Monet, the fierce matriarch, is hit by multiple bullets to the chest and eventually falls to the ground severely injured. Her last words are filled with love for her children as she lies bleeding. “My babies,” she whispers, as Dru and Diana finish off the remaining gunmen and rush to her side. Cane is crying for Monet Tejada, the queen of the Tejada family, but it’s too late.
Monet’s tragic end is a dramatic turning point for Power Book II: Ghost in this episode. One of the most influential figures in the Power universe has fallen, and fans are wondering how her children will cope and if they will survive Noma’s wrath in the season finale.
With only one episode remaining, the Power Universe is poised for an unforgettable conclusion, as the Tejada family’s empire crumbles and the future of Tariq St. Patrick, Brayden, and the remaining Tejada siblings are in a precarious situation.
