Power Book II: Ghost’s Alix Lapri Names Which Original Power She Would Rise From The Dead & Favorite Scene From Ghost
Alix Lapri was a guest on The Crew Has It Podcast with Power Book II: Ghost castmates Michael Rainey Jr & Gianni Paolo. During their chat, Lapri was asked if you could bring back any dead character from the Original Power, who would it be, and why?
“I would probably repeat Kanan because he is just so interesting. I mean, Effie doesn’t get that far, but I feel their actions sort of mimic. It’s so worrying; she is a walking paradox, which is very similar to how I describe myself because she has so many contradictions. She truly cares about Tariq, but at the same time, she doesn’t though. She will f*** him off in a quick second. It’s crazy,” said Lapri.
“I think this next season, we will get to see why she is the way that she is, especially the episode that we are shooting now. We found out some stuff about her that is just crazy, but it make sense though. It makes a lot of sense.”
Earlier this year, Courtney Kemp shared that Effie Morales’ back story will take place in season three of Power Book II: Ghost.
“Yes, you will, but that’s season three. That’s not going to come this season, said Kemp.
“I know I’m not supposed to tell people that, but I kind of like for you guys to know what to expect. And if you are exactly expecting to see a lot of Effie backstory this season, it is not coming. It is coming for next year.”
In the sit down with Rainey and Paolo, Lapri was also asked what was her favorite scene to film in Ghost?
‘I think this was episode nine where she sneaks back from killing Lauren. No words were said, but that’s one of my favorite scenes to this day because my body looked like fire… Thank you! I lost 20 pounds for that s***, but nothing was said; I feel so much was said. It gave me chills. That was one of them; I say that was one of them.”
The other scene Lapri mentioned was the robbery of Mecca’s penthouse.
“That scene where we came back from the heist and the director kept pushing us to keep looking at each other and make it uncomfortable and that’s long a** eye contact that everyone on Twitter goes crazy about now, but the eye contact was fire. I really felt that s***.”
