Naturi Naughton Reveals Some Of The Plot Scenes In Power Were Her Audition Scenes

It’s Tuesday, which means another episode of “The Crew Has It” Podcast with Michael Rainey Jr. and Gianni Paolo. This week they had on Naturi Naughton, for those of you that don’t know plays Tasha St. Patrick in the Power Universe.
“That pilot was one of actually my audition scenes; like some of those scenes in the pilot, there’s a scene,” said Naughton.
“I don’t know if it’s episode three or something where I say you got me going into that bank looking like boo boo the fool. She says that because basically all the money was gone, he didn’t tell her, he used it for the club [Truth].”
Paolo mentioned that he watched the first three episodes of Power and zeroed in on the scene from episode one when Ghost [played by Omari Hardwick] went up to Angela Valdez [ played by Lela Loren] and Tash St. Patrick suffers her first heartbreak.
“Ghost was always breaking Tasha’s heart amongst your heart [Tarqi St. Patrick(Michael Rainey Jr)] and many others. He wound up breaking Angela’s heart. I told you, Angie you should of listened to me,” Naughton said.
Speaking of Naughton, she and Brandon Victor Dixon, who played Terry Silver on Power, were recently interviewed by NBC New York about the Tribeca premiere of their project ’88’. The film is about the uncovering of a conspiracy funding a presidential candidate.
As for Power, tune into season two of Raise Kanan, premiering on August 14.
