Allen Maldonado is one of the busiest and most versatile talents in Hollywood today. Whether it’s acting, writing, producing, or directing, Maldonado’s passion for storytelling shines through every project he touches. Known for his roles on hit shows like Black-ish, Survivor’s Remorse, and You’re The Worst, he has built a career defined by hard work, creativity, and undeniable charisma. But his journey didn’t start on the big screen — it began in a high school drama class where he first caught the acting bug.

Since then, Maldonado has gone on to share the screen with Hollywood heavyweights like Denzel Washington and Jennifer Aniston, written for acclaimed television shows, and even launched his own digital series. With a deep love for the craft, a relentless work ethic, and a refreshing sense of humility, Maldonado continues to prove why people say, “Allen Maldonado is everywhere.”

When did you start Acting?
It was my senior year of high school in drama class where the acting bug bit me.
What do you consider your big break and how did you feel when you got it?
My role on Young and The Restless. I was on a show that my mom and grandma had watched for over 20 years,
so to be a part of that was everything at the time.
You’ve worked with Denzel and Jennifer Aniston, what’s it like working with Hollywood royalty?
Satisfying. To be eye to eye with your idols is the ultimate sign of progress and growth.
I heard somewhere you’re a writer for Survivor’s Remorse how did that come about?
The grace of God. Well, I’ve been writing since I was 19 with the great Michael Caine, who wrote ‘All The
Right Moves’ for Tom cruise. It was the perfect case of timing meeting preparation.
Do you have aspirations outside of acting and writing, like producing and directing?
Yes. I produced and directed several projects such as ‘Who The Fuck Is Uncle Joe,’ a digital show that will be
premiering in 2017 on the new app Everybody Digital.
Where did the saying Allen Maldonado is everywhere come from?
It’s literal. I began to hear that from everybody I would run into, so it just was a natural progression.
How did you learn the craft of acting?
From my great acting coach Bobby Shaw Chance. I give her all the credit. She birthed me as an actor.
What is your dream role and who is your dream leading lady or ladies?
Bob Marley and Meryl Streep.
What would you like people to know about you that they don’t know?
That I was a boy scout growing up and was almost an Eagle Scout.
What can your fans look forward to in 2016-17 from you?
I will be returning on all of my shows; Blackish, Survivor’s Remorse, and You’re The Worst. I also have a few
movies coming out; Ringside, Smartass, and Quest. Then my show ‘Who The fuck Is Uncle Joe?’ is launching
on Everybody Digital.
