Michael Jackson, celebrated worldwide as the ‘King of Pop’, is now at the center of a shocking claim involving late rapper Tupac Shakur. According to Wack 100, an insider in the music industry, Jackson once physically confronted Shakur to defend Quincy Jones and his daughter, Kidada Jones. Wack reported that the argument turned into a brawl, and Jackson emerged victorious.
The Alleged Incident
Wack 100 recounted the story on a radio show, claiming that the information was obtained from a credible third-party interview. After allegedly disrespecting her during a heated exchange, Shakur, who was dating Kidada Jones at the time, allegedly caused an altercation.
“The man spoke on it, he witnessed it,” Wack said in a clip shared on WiLD 94.1’s YouTube channel. “Google it, it’s the whole interview. [Tupac] was disrespecting Quincy Jones’ daughter. Mike said, ‘I watched that girl grow up,’ and he whooped him. You think I’m capping?”
The claim is in line with a rumor that Tommy Too, a musician, shared in a separate interview.
“Tupac came out of a party, disrespecting Kidada like, ‘Shut up and get in the car.’ Mike stepped to him and said, ‘Yo, you can’t talk to her like that.’ Pac told Mike to mind his business, and Mike said, ‘No, that’s like my niece.’ They started rumbling, and Mike got the better of him.”
The Jones family and Tupac had a relationship that was filled with tension. During a 1993 interview, Shakur slammed Quincy Jones, accusing him of favoring interracial relationships and disparaging his children. Quincy’s younger daughter, Rashida Jones, called out the rapper for perpetuating negativity within the Black community with a sharp rebuke for his comments.
Tupac’s family reconciled after a rough start. Rashida told The New Yorker that Shakur apologized to both her and her father, leading to a deeper mutual understanding.
“It resolved itself really nicely,” she said. “When I met him, he immediately apologized to me and my dad. We had a good conversation, and then he was family.”
Jackson’s Connection to Quincy Jones
According to reports, Michael Jackson’s loyalty to Quincy Jones and his family was a factor in the alleged confrontation. The relationship between Jones and Jackson was storied, with Jones producing some of Jackson’s most iconic albums, such as Off the Wall and Thriller. Jackson’s belief that Kidada was his niece may have led to his intervention during the incident with Tupac.
Unverified But Intriguing
Although the story is unconfirmed, it has a resurrected interest in the intersections of hip-hop, pop music, and personal drama from the 1990s. The narrative highlights the intricate relationships and rivalries that shaped the era while fans and commentators debate the plausibility of the claims. The legacy of two of the most influential figures in modern music history is further enhanced by the alleged fight between Michael Jackson and Tupac Shakur, whether it actually took place or not.
