Larry Karpenko has taken a different approach with his new single, “God Help Us.” This song is a heartfelt prayer wrapped in beautiful melodies, inspired by a meaningful moment that resonates with both personal feelings and broader truths. The journey of “God Help Us” began at the Los Angeles College of Music, where Larry met the talented, Grammy-nominated artist Marlanna Evans, also known as Rapsody. During her performance of “Back In My Bag,” one line really stuck with him, “with blessings on blessings, I came through the struggle.” For Larry, this felt like a powerful story of strength.

Rapsody’s honest expressions of overcoming challenges and finding healing through connection deeply moved him. That very night, Larry returned home and discovered an old music beat he had saved. He felt a wave of inspiration, and the chorus came to him almost instantly, “Rain may come, rain may fall.” It became a heartfelt plea for guidance, a request for help from a higher power during difficult times. As he continued to develop his vision for the song, Larry imagined himself, along with Rapsody and Michael Jackson, praying over the city of Los Angeles. This imagery infused the essence of “God Help Us.”

The song features uplifting gospel choir sounds that feel like a community coming together, with some uplifting lines taken directly from the Bible, grounding the track in faith and hope. Larry Karpenko has created something truly special: a song that feels both personal and shared, creating a sense of closeness while also embracing a wider community. “God Help Us” is a reminder not just to survive tough times, but to support one another with gratitude, determination, and unwavering faith. With this release, Larry highlights that the most meaningful prayers can be found in the form of songs.
