“Sacramento Kings guard Tyrese Haliburton has no ligament damage to his left knee, an MRI revealed but likely will miss the rest of the season. Haliburton won’t require surgery and is expected to make a full recovery,” tweeted Woj.
On Tuesday afternoon, former Lakers’ trainer Marco Nunez discussed Haliburton’s injury.
“When the injury happened, they took him back to the locker room. That is where they had the training staff, medical staff, and the doctor. This when they do a manual and special test to test all the ligaments. They test the MCL ligament, ACL ligament, PCL ligament, LCL ligament, and meniscus,” said Nunez.
“These are things done to see where things are at, so even if you rupture an ACL, you can test that. If there a positive test, that means it is very likely he tore his ACL. Now, the MRI only confirms that, and in this case, they seem very positive. So, I am assuming that all the tests that they did came back negative.”
Haliburton has had a great rookie season, averaging 13 points, 5.3 assists and 1.5 steals.
