Kevin Garnett Dubs Karl Anthony Towns The Future
Karl Anthony Towns was the first pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, by the Minnesota Timberwolves. This past season he was named to his first All-star team as averaged 21 points and 12 rebounds. The T-Wolves were able to make it into the playoffs, but lost in five games to the Houston Rockets in the first round. According to his mentor Kevin Garnett its all about growth. Garnett made his return to Minnesota in 2015 after being traded to the Boston Celtics and then a stop in Brooklyn to play with the Nets.Upon his return to the Timberwolves KG took Towns under his wing.
Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson the host of the Scoop “B” Radio podcast recently interviewed the future Hall of Famer and he shared that he thought Towns is the future of the NBA.
“He’s the future,” Kevin Garnett told me.
Earlier this summer Robinson spoke with Towns’ father Karl Anthony Towns Sr. on the Scoop B Radio Podcast and Sr. shared that KG was the best thing to happen to his son because“Garnett taught Karl how to be a pro.”
Per Robinson Garnett was please to hear the news: “It’s dope, it’s dope,” said Garnett.
“When you come into this league, you don’t believe there’s a better player. But when he came into it, I see a lot of similarities in Karl to myself. If I could ever be an inspiration and lead him into that, I’ve always wanted to be that. And the fact that he took heed and took some of the advice I gave him is more than honorable, so it’s dope.”
