James Harden Changes Agents Per Report

Former MVP James Harden, elected to change agents, and it could affect his short and long-term tenure with the Brooklyn Nets.
According to ESPN’s Jordan Schultz of ESPN, Harden has decided to part with his sports agents Jason Ranne and Chafie Fields of Wasserman. He will now be represented by his friend Lorenzo McCloud and the NBPA.
The timing of the deal is especially interesting as James Harden is about to begin his expansion talks with the Nets. His current contract ends in 2022-2023, but he has a player option and may well opt-out after 2021-2022 if he does not agree to an extension of time in the near future.
Although there is definitely no hurry when it comes to contract talks between Harden’s camp and the Nets, GM Sean Marks has already suggested that he intends to do this before training camp begins in late September. After all, they want no doubt about the future of their Big 3 lingers while getting ready for another big campaign.
The Nets have already come to terms with Kevin Durant, who signed a four-year, $198 million extension earlier this month. Now the focus is to get both James Harden and Kyrie Irving locked up for the long term.
