Isaiah Thomas Is A Guy That Can Get Buckets, Says Mavs’ Mark Cuban

Last season the Dallas Mavericks signed 13-year veteran Isaiah Thomas to a ten-day contract under the NBA’s COVID-related hardship allowance. During his time in Dallas, he could only play one game against the Sacramento Kings before catching COVID one day after the Mavericks played the Kings.
On Saturday night, I spoke with Mavericks Gm and President of basketball operations Nico Harrison. I asked him what he saw in the former MVP candidate when he decided to bring him in last season.
“I mean IT [Isaiah Thomas] we brought him early in the season, and he is always in shape and always ready to hoop, and when we were going through COVID, we needed an extra guard, extra guy, and someone to put the ball in the hole. He was an easy phone call to make,” said Harrison.
Dallas Mavericks Governor Mark Cuban added, “Scorer a guy that can get buckets, physically he’s had changes, we want to give him run. It was a crazy time with COVID and everything, but he’s a good dude. He’s got a heart of gold, it fun to see that smile, and he can score,” said Cuban.
Last season, former Dallas Maverick guard, Jalen Brunson said Thomas was a fighter and doesn’t give up.
“He’s a fighter man. He’s another one that kinda always seems to be doubted it. To see what he’s been able to do throughout his career is very inspiring. A guy that doesn’t quit.”
After the Maverick decided not to give Thomas a second 10-day contract, the Charlotte Hornets would sign Thomas for the rest of the 2021-22 season, according to NBA.com.
Thomas is current a free agent and looking for another opportunity in the NBA.
