Houston Rockets Offered Silkk The Shocker A Contract in 99-00

As you all might now, New Orleans Legend Master P played in the NBA as a member of the Charlotte Hornets and Toronto Raptors during the 1998 and 1999 pre-season. However, not many know his brother Silkk The Shocker was offered a contract by the Houston Rockets.
Shocker was a guest on the Heavy on Lakers’ Live and shared with Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson recently.
“I don’t know if you are familiar with my basketball side of it. I was really good coming up. Even with the Houston team [Rockets] I was around them all the time and they softy offered me a contract with the Houston team. But, what they were offering I could make that in one show,” said Shocker. “If I would have known what I know now, I probably would have did it, and signed it just to say I did it. I was with them all the time, summer time. [Scottie] Pippen, [Hakeem] Olajuwon all of them we played. I was playing at high level, I just didn’t take it seriously.”
That was the 1999-00 season, when the Rockets acquired Scottie Pippen from Bulls in a sign and trade. Pippen would then agree to sign a five-year deal worth $82 million. Unfortunately, the marriage between Pippen and the Rockets didn’t last long and he was traded to Portland shortly after.
