It’s been a little over a month since the Seattle Seahawks beat the New England Patriots 29 to 13 in Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Kenneth Walker, who recently signed with the Kansas City Chiefs this offseason, was named MVP, having racked up 135 yards and 26 receiving yards.

“If I would have told myself as a kid, I wouldn’t have guessed that I would be the one to win the MVP,” Walker told reporters shortly after he won the honor. “So it’s a surreal moment.”

“I’m really happy for Ken; he played a tremendous game,” Seattle coach Mike Macdonald said.

“Everyone really dedicated themselves to the run game today, which is something we had to get going to really control the game,” Macdonald added. “And I think this is one of the best versions of Ken that we’ve [seen] up to this point.”

Devon Witherspoon also had a real case for Super Bowl MVP as well, with four tackles and a sack in the game, according to StatMuse. Witherspoon’s most memorable play came on a fourth-quarter blitz, where he came in untouched and hit Patriots quarterback, jarring the ball towards the arms of Seahawks linebacker Uchenna Nwosu.

“I just made the plays that come to me. It’s nothing crazy. I’m not going out of my way to do anything special,” he said. “We had a play call and then I got out there and do my assignment. … I’m just ready to celebrate with my guys, man. We put a lot of work into this season and we gotta go out there and celebrate.”

Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold finished the game with 19 completions on 38 attempts for 202 passing yards with a touchdown. Darnold also had a QB rating of 74.7.

“The reason I’m here is because of my journey,” Darnold said. “Because of the ups and downs, especially the downs, I went through early on in my career. I learned so much about myself, about football.

“It’s funny how it works.”

Atlanta Hawks forward Corey Kispert, a Washington native, recently spoke with LandonBuford.com about the Seahawks’ revenge Super Bowl win over the Patriots.

“I’m really happy. I’m happy for Sam. He’s a friend of mine. No one deserves it more than him,” said Kispert.

“He works his a** off. He’s a really good player, and getting the recognition he deserves and seeing how that work pays off is great. I’m happy for the city and the team. When you do things the right way and build a team the right way, good things happen.”

The Patriots beat the Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX on February 1, 2015, by a score of 28-24. Malcolm Butler’s interception on the goal line would go on to seal the win for the Patriots.

Darnold was recently asked by The Score who his NBA player comparison was, and he named Kispert.

“Corey Kispert. He does the dirty work and shoots the long ball.”On why not a higher comp: “I’m not gonna say I’m LeBron James, I’m not gonna go chase down a guy and swat the ball off the backboard.”
