GloRilla Donates $25K to Melrose High, Inspires Students
GloRilla, who is originally from Memphis, left her old high school, Melrose High School, with a lasting impression by giving back in a meaningful way. Students and staff were surprised by the rising star's $25,000 donation, which marked her return to the place that played a key role in shaping her journey to success. GloRilla's visit was not just about money; it was a powerful message of inspiration and love. On social media, she shared the special moment and expressed how much it meant to her to give back to the school and community that laid the foundation for her aspirations. “The fact that I have the ability to do it now warms my heart,” she said.
“Anything they put they mind to its possible. Long as they got a dream they just got to reach for the stars and whatever they mind to doing, whatever they work for, they can do,” she said.
The donation is likely to be put towards improving school programs and helping students who are working tirelessly to achieve their own objectives. For GloRilla, the act symbolized more than just charity—it was about showing that success can be shared and that hard work truly pays off.
“A lot of students sometimes don’t believe in themselves or they need that extra push so knowing that you can overcome so many obstacles that life throws at you is just that peace that we need,” principal Shiquita Perry said.
Melrose High School students are now more motivated to pursue greatness, thanks to a person who once walked the same halls. GloRilla's gift is proof of the power of staying connected to one's roots and inspiring others on their journey to success.
From Memphis to Stardom
GloRilla's rise to popularity has been nothing but meteoric. In 2024, she released her first studio album, GLORIOUS, which is already making waves in the music industry. Her experiences are deeply woven into the tracks on GLORIOUS, blending tales of hustle, struggle, and triumph. The album's authenticity and energy have been praised by fans, making GloRilla a force to be reckoned with in hip-hop.A Role Model for the Future

Rising from humble beginnings and inspiring others along the way is possible thanks to her donation to Melrose High School and her ongoing success in music.
