Drake’s festive ‘Drizzmas Giveaway’ livestream with Adin Ross on Thursday night, December 26, almost ignited old rivalries. During the nearly two-hour event, the Canadian rapper and the popular streamer worked together to give back to fans by giving out cash and extravagant prizes. Drake had to halt his speech mid-sentence because of a fan’s letter, nearly disrupting the holiday spirit.
While perusing the wishes submitted by fans, one fan requested tickets to Drake’s upcoming Anita Max Win Tour and included an offensive message. During his scan of the letter, Drake paused and commented, “And it’s always f**k Ke—oh, I’m not reading that.”
Fans speculated whether the rapper was about to reinvigorate his long-standing feud with Kendrick Lamar after he cut himself off.
A Nod to Future and a Possible Reconciliation
Drake shifted gears later on in the stream by shouting out Future, whom he affectionately called Pluto. This is the initial positive mention of Future in the media since they were involved in Drake’s conflict with Kendrick Lamar. According to hip-hop journalist Elliott Wilson, the collaborators of What A Time To Be Alive quietly mended their relationship several months ago. The dynamic duo’s fans are hopeful for new music after their rekindled camaraderie.
The Drizzmas Spirit Lives On
Although there was a brief controversy, the Drizzmas Giveaway continued to have a festive vibe, with Drake and Adin Ross sharing joy and gratitude with their audience. The internet is buzzing with speculation about Drake’s next moves as fans eagerly await his upcoming tour and potential new collaborations. Drake is always in the spotlight, whether it’s due to near-disasters or reconciliations, which is where his fans want him to be.
