Donovan Mitchell And Rudy Gobert Deserve MVP Considerations, Says Jordan Clarksons

Earlier this season Jazz head coach Quin Snyder was asked if Donovan Mitchell should deserve more MVP consideration. Since the Utah Jazz are first in the Western Conference.
“I don’t think Donovan or any of our guys are focused on those things. I can’t speak for Donovan, but I know Donovan and how he thinks. He is worried about what we are doing and how he can help our team. I think that is true for our entire group; you don’t disregard any of those things. Obviously, you are aware on a certain level, but we are focused on trying to improve individually and collectively,” said Snyder.
“That’s our goal throughout the year. If guys continue to improve individually, that will help the group, and I think if we do those things, our feelings are other things will fall in place. If not, it is what it is, and we will keep trying to compete. I don’t think it is an issue one way or another; we focus on what we are trying to do.”
On Monday, Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes released a clip from his latest Post Up episode with Jazz guard Jordan Clarksons. During the Clip, Haynes talks about why Mitchell and Rudy Gobert should be in the MVP conversation and whether they care about being recognized.
“I really don’t think so; in our locker, I feel it doesn’t really come up, but we definitely praise each other, saying as you should be in the MVP conversation. That’s the only conversation that comes out of that. But, in terms of being noticed, I don’t think it seeps into our heads. We really focus on one thing, and that’s winning games. Keeping this thing rolling and keep getting better every day,” said Clarksons.
“Donovan and Rudy are impact players and superstars I don’t see why they wouldn’t be in the conversation, but it is what it is. We are just trying to prove people wrong and get better that’s it.”
NBA champion Shawn Marion believes if the Jazz end the season with the leagues best record Mitchell deserves MVP consideration.
“You know what is crazy about that if they end up with the best record in the league, yep,” said Marion.
As for Clarkson, he should be considered in the Sixth Man of The Year this season for his contributions off the bench.
