Dave Chappelle, a comedic genius known for his unapologetic style, took the spotlight on Saturday Night Live with an intense 17-minute monologue. This time, his sharp wit was directed at Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and the mounting allegations against the music mogul.

Chappelle’s Take on Puffy’s Legal Troubles

“I’ve been in trouble in my day, but let me tell you, this guy Puffy… this guy Puffy is in an enormous amount of trouble,” Chappelle made a joke, immediately eliciting laughter from the audience. The comedian pointed out the federal charges that Combs is facing now, which include sex trafficking, racketeering, and prostitution. Combs, who has pleaded not guilty to the charges, has been in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.

A One-Man RICO Case

“They’ve got this guy in a RICO case by himself,” Chappelle used humor to underscore the seriousness of the accusations. He didn’t hold back as he poked fun at the bizarre rumors swirling online, particularly those involving actor Reginald VelJohnson, famous for his role as Carl Winslow on Family Matters.

The Internet and Wild Speculations

“I saw something on the internet — probably not true, but it said Puff was in the back with Carl Winslow. And I thought, ‘Oh my God. Carl Winslow? And I wasn’t invited? It’s worse than I thought!’”

Chappelle added his signature comedic twist to the bizarre claims. VelJohnson has steadfastly denied any connection to Combs, stating, “I don’t know that man.”

Shocking Discoveries in Federal Raids

Agents raided Combs’ Los Angeles and Miami properties in March 2024 during the federal investigation into his affairs, causing a drastic change. What they uncovered was startling: over 1,000 bottles of lubricant, a variety of narcotics, and three AR-15 rifles. Chappelle couldn’t help but make fun of the unusual discovery.

“I’m 51 and I don’t think I’ve ever finished a bottle of baby oil in my life. A thousand bottles? Clearly, Puff is committed to the lifestyle,” he joked,  making the audience laugh out loud.

Wildfires and Unexpected Comparisons

The comedian connected the lubricant stockpile and the recent wildfires in Los Angeles.“Thank God they caught him before those fires — can you imagine the mushroom cloud over his house?”  He joked, demonstrating his unique ability to mix humor with current events.

The Serious Side of the Allegations

Although the jokes were well-received by the audience, the seriousness of the accusations against Combs is unquestionable. The 55-year-old was detained in New York City in September 2024 and is currently being held without bail at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center despite multiple requests for his release.

Looking Ahead: A High-Stakes Trial

The start of Combs’ trial is scheduled for May, and if convicted, the consequences are dire. The music mogul could spend the rest of his life in prison, and dozens of lawsuits allege similar misconduct. Dave Chappelle’s monologue, even though joking, demonstrates the complexity and gravity of the accusations against Sean “Diddy” Combs. The world will closely monitor how this high-profile case unfolds as the trial approaches.
