Charles Barkley Has Strong Message For NBA And Adam Silver

Before the Los Angeles Lakers took on the Golden State Warriors in the play-in tournament last week. Apparently, Lakers forward LeBron James broke the league’s health and covid protocol, according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.
Per McMenamin, James attended an event to celebrate the release of a tequila brand that James invested in. It was reported that Drake and Michael B. Jordan were also in attendance.
McMenamin spoke to a league spokesman, who shared that James was in violation.
“It’s a violation of the agreed upon protocols, and, as we have in other comparable instances around the league, it has been addressed with the team,” said the spokesman.
Of course, it raised the question if James would have to go into quarantine before the Lakers took on the Suns in the first round of the playoffs. NBA TNT analyst Charles Barkley was recently interviewed by Yahoo Sports and had a strong message to Adam Silver and other NBA officials.
“If it was a nobody, they would put him in health and safety protocols. Ain’t no f—— way LeBron James is going to be sit out because of health and safety protocols,” Barkley stated. “When I read that, I just started laughing. LeBron James is playing Sunday. Guaranteed.”
Barkley does not have a great track record with his guarantees, but in this case he was one hundred percent correct.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that James would not be suspended by the NBA.
“LeBron James won’t be suspended for protocols violation, sources tell ESPN. Nature of event didn’t rise to a threat level of virus spread, as described in @McTen‘s story below. Suns-Lakers Game 1 on Sunday.”
The Los Angeles Lakers would on to lose game one the series Phoenix Suns 99-90.
