Carmelo Anthony On Nuggets Fans Booing, “I Gave My All Here”

On Saturday night, the Portland Trail Blazers went into Denver and were able to take game one from the Nuggets. Former Nuggets’ forward Carmelo Anthony was a major contributor as he poured 18 points in just 22 minutes of play.
Anthony played his first seven and half-season in the Mile High City before he was traded to the New York Knicks in 2011.
The walking bucket was greeted with boos, but it only seemed to fuel his desire to remind the Nuggets crowd why he is a future first-ballot Hall of Famer. After the 123-109 victory, Carmelo was asked about being booed by the Nuggets crowd.
“Aw, it’s cool, I love those guys too. It’s been almost ten years now since I’ve been here? The love is there they love me [or] they hate me, I can’t do anything about that,” said Anthony.
“All, I can do is go out there smile and enjoy myself, have fun, and play basketball. Whatever they have to say, let them say it. It’s not my concern.”
Anthony was asked a follow up question by Bleacher Reports Sean Highkin referencing why he thinks he still gets booed in Denver.
“What else can they do, I don’t know. I don’t have that answer. I gave my all here. I’ve never said anything bad about Denver, [or] the fans about the organization, players, and never complained.”
Game two between the Nuggets and Blazers will be on Monday at 10 PM EST.
