Both Rick Carlisle And Dwane Casey Think Luka Doncic Deserves To Be An All Star This Season

The Dallas Mavericks are coming off a 106 -98 at home against the Los Angeles Clippers. Next up for the Mavericks is a date with the Detriot Pistons, which will feature former Clipper teams Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan. It will also feature a matchup of Andre Drummond and DeAndre Jordan in the post.
Griffin was able to drop 37 points against the New Orleans Pelicans earlier this week, and after Mavericks’ shootaround on Thursday, DeAndre Jordan was asked how the Mavericks can contain his former teammate?
” He is a load down there. He is tough and we have to do our best to be physical with him without fouling him, but a guy like that he is playing great this season. He is shooting the ball great from outside and inside they obviously use him a lot. So, it is going to be a collective group effort,” said Jordan.
” Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle reiterate what Jordan said about Blake adding ” Griffin is having an all-star year and he has just been amazing averaging 26 points per game and averaging 30 points over his last five games. He is a load on the inside and outside. Making three consistently and getting to the free throw line and really a zillion problem to deal with,” said Carlisle.
Carlisle also weighed in on if the front runner for Rookie of the Year Luka Doncic will make his first all-star team. ” He is having a great year, and he is doing so many things well. He has certainly earned the attention and consideration, and we will find out tonight”, said Carlisle.
He continued by stating he didn’t know the formula for voting you have the fan vote,” but you also have the media and the players too. So, we will find out tonight.”
The starters have already been announced, and Luka wasn’t picked, so the only for him to get in now is if the coaches vote him. It could be a long shot because the West is so competitive.
During this morning shootaround media scrum with Pistons’ head coach Dwane Casey, he was asked if he thought Luka deserved the all-star nod?
” He definitely deserves it because the fans and the players voted him in. So, we got to go with the system and he is very talented,” says Casey.
