An exclusive interview with Dallas premier Housewife celebrity Cary Deuber as she discusses her life as a young adult in the Dallas Metroplex.

Cary Deuber (@CaryDeuber) returns in season two of the Real Housewives of Dallas along with her surgeon husband Mark and their children. She has lived in the Dallas metroplex since high school attended Baylor University, UCLA, and is a member of the Junior League of Dallas. Cary is a certified nurse who shares a medical practice with her husband and their life in Dallas every Monday on Bravo at 10/9c.

Which Dallas Metroplex high school did you attend?

I moved to Colleyville, Texas from Ohio prior to me starting high school. I attended Grapevine High School, and I did not relocate to Dallas until my final two years at Baylor University for nursing school.

When did you realize you wanted to work in the field of medicine?

In high school, at the age of 16, I wanted to land employment so I went to my dentist’s office and asked if he would hire me. He was very impressed with me being a young adult, coming in and asking for a job, and eventually, he hired me. I worked as an assistant up until college and realized that I wanted to pursue a career in the medical field.

Why did you select to attend Baylor University?

Baylor has a very strong science program and my employer helped convince me to pursue my education in Pre-Med before I decided to settle in the nursing side of the field.

What made you decided to further your education at UCLA?

I was researching schools to obtain my Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) certificate and I now have my Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) certificate.  It is difficult to find locations that offer the certification, but UCLA offers it through its extension program. They have one of the best programs in the country, and Los Angeles was also a great selling point for me.  I finished all my accredited hours in the doctor’s office here in Dallas and being that I have friends in the area, I was able to visit them for a week.

What are your long-term goals?

My long-term goals are to grow my career in the medical field and in the entertainment business.  I have had the opportunity to learn a lot about the industry and I look forward to gathering more educational experience in both industries over the next five to ten years. I feel that my husband Mark and I would love to expand our practice in the medical field and in the entertainment business.

Have you considered getting into the director’s chair and directing your own content?

Some of my producers always laugh at me because I always try to do everyone’s job and make sure things run smoothly. They have suggested that I move into production and I think that might be a great transition to being behind the camera. We will have to see where things go and if the opportunity presented itself I would not oppose the idea.

What intrigued you about being a member of The Real Housewives of Dallas?

I think the challenge of doing a reality show really intrigued me the most, and it was something that I could add to my resume. This was something that you do not get the chance to do every day. I thought this was an amazing opportunity to learn how things work and being exposed to new challenges is the best form of education you can receive.

What concerns do you have about allowing the world to be a part of your family?

I think that I probably should have had more concerns than I did when we first decided to participate in the show. Mark and I were happy to share our lives with the public and really let everyone in.

You have known two of your new co-stars from season 2 for several years. How did you meet them?

We met through a Dallas charity called “Junior League of Dallas” I was in the Junior League for ten years and recently I went sustainer and that was exciting. I have known D’Andra Simmons for ten years and Kameron Westcott for six years and met both volunteering through the Junior League.

Did you recommend either of them for the show?

I recommended Kameron for the show and D’Andra was already on the producers’ radar. Both are very fun, intergenic individuals, and I thought they would both be great additions to the show.

As you have lived on the east coast, Dallas, and the west coast, what made you decide to make Dallas your home?

Dallas is a great place to raise your family and a great place for breast implants! It’s an amazing location for our practice and to showcase our business. The kids really enjoy their schools and the friends they have made in the area. It has been nice to be a part of the culture here in Dallas.

Can you tell us how you decide where your family spends their vacation?

Typically, we tend to let the person whose birthday actually chooses our next vacation location. This past trip, Mark and I choose the same location Turks and Caicos Islands twice.  We went for my birthday in May and will be going again for Mark’s 50th birthday in October. We also, spend a lot of time in Switzerland in the winter skiing because Mark is from there, and we’re planning to visit Cabo next week. As a couple, we generally tend to travel to different places, and if we like it- we go back for a family vacation.

What is it like to work alongside your husband?

It’s a great experience to be able to work with my best friend over the past seven years at our own practice. I enjoy the opportunity to work with Mark, and there are days where we have disagreements, but most of our work days provide a great environment for both of us.

What are some of the procedures that your husband Mark performs?

My husband Mark does 24-hour breast augmentation procedures, and every patient can go out to dinner the night of the surgery and work the next if they choose to. This is a great procedure for any women, mothers, and working women. It makes it easier because you do not have any downtime during the recovery process. We provide tummy tucks, liposuction, facelifts, and we also have our laser center in the office. I do all the injections such as Botox and other fillers. Paul Kraft is our laser technician, and he has specialized in the industry for over 20 years and does all those procedures such as Sciton Halo, Infini, PiCo4, and FemTouch.

How long do most of these procedures normally take?

It really depends on the procedure. Breast augmentations normally take less than an hour; a tummy tuck can take between an hour to two hours, and a whole facelift can last four hours.
