It was a tough night for Jordan Poole in Game 1 of the Warriors vs. Lakers playoff series, as he missed a key shot that could have tied the game and potentially changed the outcome. The irony of the situation was that Snoop Dogg had predicted just hours earlier that Poole would choke in a crucial moment, and unfortunately for the Golden State star, that prediction came true.
Snoop Dogg’s prediction came during an appearance on “First Take,” where he correctly guessed that the Lakers’ defense would force Poole into a situation he wouldn’t be able to capitalize on. He even encouraged Poole to keep shooting, as he liked the way he had been missing. It’s unclear whether Snoop’s comments had any impact on Poole’s performance, but his miss certainly drew the ire of fans, including NBA legends Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal.
“I don’t like that shot right there,” Barkley said on NBA on TNT … while Shaq added that it wasn’t a “good shot” by the guard.
However, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr defended Poole’s shot selection and expressed his satisfaction with the possession. With Game 2 looming, Poole and the Warriors will have a chance to even up the series and redeem themselves.
