Last Tracker Has Caveliers’s Evan Mobley With Most First Place Votes In 2022-23 DPOY Race

Evan Mobley is one of the most highly touted prospects in the NBA right now, and his rookie season with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2021-22 showed exactly why. The 7-foot-tall center made an immediate impact on both ends of the court, showcasing his impressive defensive skills and ability to stretch the floor with his shooting.

Heading into the 2022-23 season, there are high expectations for Mobley to continue improving and make an even bigger impact for the Cavaliers. With his combination of size, agility, and basketball IQ, he has the potential to become one of the league’s top two-way players in the near future.

As far as his chances of winning the Defensive Player of the Year award, Mobley certainly has the tools to make a strong case for himself. His ability to protect the rim, switch onto smaller players, and disrupt passing lanes make him a versatile and impactful defender. If he can continue to improve his defensive instincts and consistency, there’s no doubt he’ll be in the conversation for the award. However, the competition for the award is always fierce, and there are many other elite defenders in the league vying for the honor.

According to League Alert announced that someone leaked votes for Defensive Players of the Year award. Jack Settleman, who is the CEO & founder of Snapback Sports commented in the comment section and shared, “It’s not leaked lol. There’s a tracker.”

Per LA, Evan Mobley is leading the way in first place vote in the DPOY with four votes and Grizzlies forward Jarren Jackson Jr with two votes.

TV writer and Comedian Ricky Smith agrees with the voters,”Evan Mobley is Defensive Player of the Year and it’s not even close. Anyone who disagrees, probably just watches ESPN highlights or just goes along with whoever is loud and trash talking.”

Donovan Mitchell and J.B. Bickerstaff believe he’s a versatile defender.

We’re the No. 1 defense,” Donovan Mitchell said “Guards 1-5. Doesn’t get into foul trouble. Switching late in games. He is communicating. He’s blocking shots and running out in transition. He should be Defensive Player of the Year. I’ve played with a three-time Defensive Player of the Year, so I know what it looks like. Seeing it with him for sure.”

“He is one of the most impactful defensive players that’s not limited to a single thing,” Cavs coach J.B. Bickerstaff said. “He’s not just an elite, one-on-one defender. He’s not just an elite pick-and-roll defender. He’s not just an elite rim protector. He has the versatility to guard every position. He’s been that for a team that’s been the number one defense for a majority of the year. Night by night his matchup changes, but his responsibilities don’t.”

This season for Cleveland Mobley is averaging 16.2 points, nine rebounds, 2.8 assists, 0.8 steals, and 1.5 blocks per game.
