“Smoke”: A Trip Back to 90s Jazz with Quanny B x gooddogthedog

Quanny B and gooddogthedog have teamed up to bring us their debut album, AKASHA, featuring their newest single, “Smoke.” This atmospheric hip-hop track boasts a boom-bap and jazz influence that will take you back to the 90s.

The duo recorded the album with just two guitars, a bass, a midi keyboard, and a humble mic setup beside their beds. The album is reminiscent of their time living in a cramped 800 sqft apartment in New Orleans with their significant others.

“Smoke” features a jazz interlude at 1:17 and a beat-switch at 1:50, showcasing Quanny B’s emotional and autobiographical final verse. The track falls under the study beats, jazz-hop, chill-hop, and conscious hip-hop genres, with a happy and chill mood that is epic and USA-based.
