According to ESPN’s Mike Coppinger, Boxer Gervonta Davis was arrested on Tuesday afternoon after he allegedly struck a woman in the head in Parkland, Florida.

Davis was arrested just before 3 p.m. on Tuesday after reportedly hitting a woman in the side of his head with a “closed hand type slap.” The wife reportedly suffered a small abrasion inside her upper lip.

The woman called the police twice, according to ESPN, and was heard advocating for help while telling the dispatchers she had, “a baby in the car and [Davis] attacked me … He’s going to kill me.”

This initial call ended, but the woman reportedly contacted the police less than a minute later. She also apparently pressed the emergency button on her car, and told the Mercedes-Benz emergency center that there was a man, “speeding at her.”

Davis has been charged with assault, which is a domestic violence charge. He was apparently not under the influence of drugs and alcohol at his arrest. Davis was released Wednesday afternoon after bailing him out.

He denied the claims on Twitter, but he has since deleted the message.

“I NEVER PUT MY HANDS ON MY CHILD MOTHER NOR MY F***ING DAUGHTER ARE YOU F***ING CRAZY!!” part of his tweet said, via ESPN. “I’M NOT A MONSTER I BEEN QUIET FOR TOO LONG … THAT’S THE ONLY REASON I’M DOING THIS NOW! JUST TO CLEAR MY NAME!”

He talked on his Instagram, speaking of Davis, telling fans, “Do not let these people misguide you all on this bullsh*t,” via Hollywood Unlocked.

A few hours later, Gervonta’s daughter’s mother, Vanessa Posso, shared a quick post at her Instagram story that said, “Karma never loses an address.”

A few hours later, Gervonta went back on her Instagram and took her story to share photos and a video to “clear his name.”

He shared a picture of three toothbrushes covered with droppings. He said,  “This girl put sh*t on my toothbrush…and everything this hard s*** from my daughter pamper..the one y’all saw I hit! Can’t ay I did this? I was f***ing locked up.. I didn’t want to do this but I wanna clear my name!” Gervonta also shared a photo of the words “cheater” and “s***” written on the bathroom mirror.

28-year-old Davis is a perfect 27-0 professional boxer. His next fight is scheduled for January 7, when Davis will take on Hector Luis Garcia as part of a First Boxing Champions pay-per-view event on Showtime.
