Uncle Luke challenges Fat Joe’s claims that he is responsible for signing Trick Daddy and Pitbull to record contracts.

Last week, Uncle Luke hit up Instagram to firmly refute demands Fat Joe made a comeback in May on an episode of Math Hoffa’s My Expert Opinion Podcast about the careers of Dad Trick and Pitbull.

“I love Joe but I find this very interesting because I discovered [Trick Daddy],” wrote Luke Campbell accompanied by a video clip of Fat Joe’s interview with Math Hoffa. “He [Trick Daddy] did his first song with me as soon as he got off the lock-up and by he stayed with me.”

Luke then continued with the details with his account of how Pitbull was originally signed.

“I also discovered [and] signed [Pitbull] to the platinum-selling Luke Records label. He did his first songs with me. Because I’m from Miami, I felt the importance of signing a Cuban rapper so I discovered him off of battle rap tapes. Maybe I’m missing something here I do have the receipts.”

Before finishing his explanation, Uncle Luke finished his IG position claiming that he is also responsible for the discovery. DJ Khaled was in the world of Miami radio before introducing the producer of God Did to the front of Hip Hop.

“By the way, because you don’t see me all in the videos [and] at the birthday parties, yes, [DJ Khaled], I found him on underground radio, Mix 96, brought him to mainstream radio [on] 99 Jamz, The Luke Show,” he shared.

Before speaking about the interview comments, Fat Joe started the conversation live by giving Uncle Luke his flowers.

“Like I told you Luke is an Icon, living legend,” Joe said. “He created the sound of Miami. He put everybody on.”

He told how he discovered Trick Daddy while travelling to Miami for the Super Bowl XXXIII in 1999.

“Trick Daddy shit was playing all over the Carol Mart [flea market], all over the parties,” Fat Joe explained. “I went back up to New York, I sat in the office with Craig Kallman, who’s still the boss of Atlantic. I don’t fuck with him no more, but I took the demo of Trick Daddy, I put it on his desk and said, ‘You need to sign this guy, he’s the next guy.’”

“I know you discovered Trick Daddy, you discovered Pitbull. I never said I discovered them, Luke. I took his demo, out of love for Hip Hop. And Craig Kallman called me two days later and said, ‘I signed the guy Trick from Miami.’
