Odell Beckham Jr Sounds Off-On Giants & Saquon Barkley, “I Feel Like There’s Something Special” [Watch]

USA Today Sports

The Cowboys initially seemed very interested in acquiring Odell Beckham Jr. for the balance of the 2022 season. However, after the free agent’s visit with the team this week, things may not be as clear as before.

On Wednesday, Jane Slater of NFL Network reported that the Cowboys did not extend an offer to Beckham at the end of her tour, largely due to concerns about not being able to see him practice in person and questions about Beckham’s availability to play this season.

Beckham Jr. is about 10 months removed from a torn ACL suffered during the Super Bowl LVI, and while the initial forecasts were. That deadline has already been extended.

To that end, according to Slater, the Cowboys were worried because they didn’t get to see Beckham in action. Moving, they had to evaluate the situation without that information.

A league source shared with me recent, that it would be a risk for any team to touch Beckham right now.

“Per an NFL source, “Very risky for a team to sign OBJ with a double ACL tear especially to the same knee. He has posted videos of him working out but have yet to see any videos of him running routes or doing any explosive exercises.”

Speaking of Beckham, he was on the Thursday night football episode of The Shop and shared he and Saquon Barkley have in finish business in New York.

“I’ll say this, but it doesn’t mean anything… I don’t think Saquon Barkley and I got to do what we were supposed to do. That’s all I got to say.

Beckham also shared he’s looking to get paid and it’s part of his free agency decision.

“I need some money,” Beckham said.

“A lot of people have already counted my bank account. ‘We know that you good.’ I understand that, I respect that, I’m honored that you feel that way. And yes, I’m good. I’ll be good. But I also know what I’m worth — I know what I bring to an organization.”

After the Mavs and Suns game, Beckham shared with Mark Cuban that he could give him 15 assists.
