Hall Of Famer Tim Hardway Sr Apologies For Using The Word ‘Rape’ During Warriors & Spurs Broadcast

Former NBA star Tim Hardaway made a nasty comment while airing the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs game on Monday night.

The Warriors broadcast “Run TMC,” which honored three of their past stars: Hardaway, Chris Mullin, and Mitch Richmond.

Bob Fitzgerald is the regular play-by-play announcer and former warrior Kelenna Azubuike. Unfortunately, the observers had to hear Hardaway comment on a Draymond Green steal rudely.

“Y’all thought that was great [defense], I thought that was just raping them,” he said during a play in the second quarter. “I think you should’ve called the police on that.”

He would later apologize for his comments.

“I used a poor choice of words earlier in the broadcast. I want to apologize for that,” he said. “Let’s get back to the game and let’s finish the game off with a 30-point win and go home happy.”

Earlier this year, Hardaway Sr finally got the call informing him that he would be joining the Hall of Fame. Hardaway was penalized because of his choice of words in the past on a guest appearance on the The Dan Le Betard Show in 2007.

“I hate gay people, so I let it be known,” said Hardaway.

“I don’t like gay people and I don’t like to be around gay people. I am homophobic,” he added. “I don’t like it. It shouldn’t be in the world or in the United States.”

He would apologize for those comments in August on this year.
