Drake decided it was a good time to claim that Megan Thee Stallion was lying when she accused Tory Lanez of shooting her in 2020. Lanez faces official charges about the shooting and is currently under house arrest and awaiting trial, but the “Circo Loco” trail includes the line:
“This b*** lie about getting shots, but she still a stallion / She don’t even get the joke, but she’s still smiling.”
Stallion replied, “I know I’m very popular but y’all gotta stop attaching weak ass conspiracy theories in bars to my name lol,” Megan tweeted in response. “Stop using my shooting for clout … Since when tf is it cool to joke abt women getting shot? You … ready to boycott shoes and clothes but dog pile on a black woman when she say one of your homeboys abused her.”
After hearing Circo Loco, Marc Lamont Hill of AJ Up Front tweeted, “If Drake released a song with “clever” wordplay that mocked the shooting of a male rapper, or any man for that matter, the same people defending him would be outraged. But of course, he would never do that…”
