Actor London Brown was a recent guest on The Crew Has It with Michael Rainey Jr and Gianni Paolo. During their chat Brown described his audition for the role of Uncle Marvin on Power Book III: Raising Kanan.

“Shout out to my agent Jason, my manager she said yo we got this this agent wants to meet she’s familiar with the work I say cool and we sat down for 10 minutes and he said yo man here go uh watch here’s an audition for you it says Power,” said Brown.

“Now mind you, I thought, let me explain in my brain I said Power. I’ve been seeing the ads all over times square Power is done, right? So, I say, well, maybe this is just a mock title because sometimes it tricked the title. So, I was like, okay, well I said perhaps just want to see. I don’t know, but I just said I’m auditioning for power because it’s done. I do the audition, say that was December, January, and they say, hey, you got the part. I flew out to New York; I still didn’t even know I was part of the [Power] Universe.”

Brown added, “So, I’m looking at that now, mind you also, it went from the sides being called Power, then it was something called Raising Kanan. So, I still don’t know, right, and then let me give you this one I never watched Power at all, not because I didn’t want to; at the time, I was on Ballers.

So, when I ran into people on the street, they were big fans of Power, Game of Thrones, and Ballers. I was like, man; it’d be great to be on that show Power because it was the streets love Power. I love ballers and am grateful I’m working, but I said I couldn’t even watch the show. I Had no idea about any of the Power Universe, anything of nothing, so I didn’t even know that I was part of what I was a part of until a month after we started shooting the first episode. Then I was like, oh, this is we’re part of all of them.”

On Starz, you can watch Brown as Marvin Thomas on Raising Kanan on Sunday night at 8 pm EST.
