LeBron James brought the city of Cleveland the joy it hadn’t felt in decades when he led the Cavaliers to their first NBA championship in 2016. In the process, LeBron rated the most significant return in the league’s history and fulfilled his promise to win them a title.
After losing in the final the following two seasons, LeBron would leave the Cavs once again as he joined the Lakers and although it has once again reached its peak by winning everything in 2020, things have really deteriorated over the past few years.
This led to LeBron whispering about leaving the Lakers in 2023 as a free agent, and with the Cavs bragging about a good young nucleus, there were questions about whether a meeting was possible.
WWE superstar Miz, originally from Ohio, really hopes this will happen.
“I can say with all due respect, and from the bottom of my heart, I would love LeBron to come to Cleveland because when Cleveland Cavaliers, the Cleveland Browns, or the Cleveland Guardians are a good team, it brings the entire city up. It brings our whole vibe up; like Los Angeles it doesn’t do that. It’s Lakers and Clippers and Dodgers; it’s so many teams,” said The Miz.
“Cleveland is such a big but small city, that an impactful player like LeBron James coming to that youth of the Cleveland Cavaliers can take them to the next level. By the way, your son’s coming to the NBA, and don’t you want him to start where you start and then take him to the promise land? Let’s bring Bronny a championship in Cleveland like you did, LeBron. We want you. We need you. Please, come to Cleveland, and just bring us another championship.”
On Wednesday James signed a two year extension with the Lakers worth $97.1 million, according to ESPN’s Woj.
James, with the extension, will make him the highest earning NBA player in history as he surpassed Kevin Durant with $532 million in career guaranteed money.
The deal includes a 15 percent trade kicker and a player option for the 24-25 season, allowing him to opt out of his contract to play wherever, including the potential of playing with his son Bronny James.
